It is slightly lower in protein per serving than it’s two rivals but at these prices you can use a bit more and still come out in front.
Whey Protein 80 is an easy mixing, great tasting (and I do mean great), premium quality protein shake.
Each serving contains: 20.6 g of protein, 1.5 g of carbs, 1.5 g of fat and just 101 calories.
Verdict:
This is easily our top choice for best whey protein powder on a budget. As far as price goes neither of the other two even come close.
It’s also the best tasting of the three in our opinion. This stuff is delicious mixed with water, mix it with milk though and the taste shoots up to a whole new level.
It gives you a decent amount of protein in each serving while being low in carbs and fat. The low calorie count make it an ideal choice for building muscle without fat gain, and losing weight while maintaining muscle.
Our Second Choice For Best Budget Whey Protein Powder…
MyProtein Impact Whey:
This is our second choice for a quality whey protein powder if you’re on a budget.
This one comes in at £18.00/kg which as you can see is over £4.00 more than our first choice.
Having said that it is also slightly higher in protein than our first choice but in our opinion not enough to make it better value for money.
Impact Whey Protein mixes easily to give you a smooth, lump free shake that tastes every bit as good as some of the more expensive brands.
Each serving contains: 20 g of protein, 1.2 g of carbs, 1.8 g of fat and only 101 calories.
Verdict:
This is our second choice for best budget whey protein powder and has everything you would expect from one of the more expensive brands only with slightly less protein per serving. You can easily get round this by mixing it with milk.
Impact Whey tastes pretty damn good when mixed with just water…and pretty amazing when mixed with milk.
The low calorie count makes it a great choice if you want to bulk up without fat gain, or trim down without muscle loss.
We awarded Impact Whey second place because of the price per kilo but other than that we were very impressed by this one.
Our Third Choice For Best Whey Protein Powder On A Budget…
Bulk Powders Pure Whey:
Bulk Powders Pure Whey is our third choice for a premium quality whey protein powder at an easily affordable price.
Although this is without a doubt an excellent protein powder from a superior source we feel it just doesn’t give enough value for money to rank it any higher.
It’s slightly higher in protein than Whey Protein 80 and Impact Whey but in our opinion doesn’t taste as good.
That’s not to say it’s rank.
Far from it.
Pure Whey tastes great, just not as great as the other two.
And it’s the combination of price and taste that earned it third place here. On price, Pure Whey comes in at £17.67/kg, slightly less than Impact Whey but around £4.00/kg more expensive than Whey Protein 80.
Each serving contains: 22+ g of protein, 2.3 g of carbs, 2.5 g of fat and 125 calories.
Verdict:
Bulk Powders Pure Whey just doesn’t offer the same value for money as our first and second choices.
However, if you don’t mind spending a little more we recommend you opt for Pure Whey.
